The bizarre and unique glacier landscape boasts a wide range of winter sporting opportunities for every level of ability from September to May. The glacier ski area is extended during the winter season by the facilities of the Rifflsee Bergbahnen. Both ski resorts are connected by the Rifflsee downhill run and cover a large and very diverse area encompassing 68 kilometres of pistes.

Lifts & cable cars in the Pitztal ski area

The most modern lifts in the Pitztal are at the Pitztal Glacier. Since summer 2022 is the new Pitztal Gletscherexpress in operation, which guarantees a fast and comfortable ascent into the ski area. 

Afterwards you can take the Wildspitz cable cars over the glacierscape. After you arrived at the top the tyrolea mountain world is at your feet

  • Beginner and re-entrants value the wide and not overcrowded natural snow slopes. 
  • Freerider find countless gullies for their off-slope adventures. 
  • Ski tourers conquer the K2 at Rifflsee, before they go on their summit tour on North Tyrol’s highest mountain the Wildspitze
  • The cross country center at the glacier offers skating- and classic-trails, the ideal adress for training teams (only in the glacier autumn). On the other hand the high cross country skiing trail at the Rifflsee is more relaxed.

The X Park on the Pitztal Glacier offers perfect alternatives to skiing and snowboarding. This includes the cross-country ski centre with skating and classic trails, the fun park with different zones, freeriding as well as ski and boardercross for training teams. It‘s just more than alpine skiing!
