On 22 OCT, Günther Gold at Café 3440 will attempt to break the world record in the category “Highest model airshow in the world”.

*What exactly is behind it and what can you expect?
There will be an official attempt to fly the highest model helicopter night flight show in the world, planned at 3,440 metres on the DACH TIROLS – (in case of bad weather at 2,800 metres), carried out by Günther Gold. The aim of this attempt is to get into the book of world records.
This record is about a geographically highest night flight show flown by a single person with an RC model helicopter. The record is judged on the basis of the sea level or altitude above sea level of the venue.

For a successful record attempt, the model helicopter must be flown for at least 5 minutes in a continuous show. In doing so, different flight manoeuvres must be flown continuously and recognisably.

The model helicopter used must be a standard model helicopter with standard equipment – however, the lighting may be specially designed for position recognition.

The special feature of this record attempt is to skilfully steer the model helicopter through the thinner air to specially selected music in the night sky, whereby the lift and manoeuvrability have a sluggish effect. Mastering this inertia of the model is up to the skill of the pilot, also through his experience and ability.
